The modern retelling of the classic fairy tale revolves around the story of Danielle, a lively young woman who finds herself in the position of being a servant because of the death of her father. Danielle’s evil stepmother, Rodmilla (Anjelica Huston), forces Danielle to do all the household chores, besides attempting to marry off her own daughters. The life of the unfortunate Danielle gets a magical turn when she encounters the handsome Prince Henry (Dougray Scott).
