An In-Depth Exploration of Grief & Loss

Hospice Services of Lake County is offering a free two-part workshop series for school personnel and others that human service professionals that desire to be more knowledgeable and skillful in their relationships with children and youth who have experienced the death of an important person in their life.
The workshop is divided into two Saturday sessions. In person and Zoom Workshops will take place on November 16 and November 19 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Hospice Services of Lake County Bereavement Center located at 1862 Parallel Drive in Lakeport. The second workshop will be held at a location in South County. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring lunch.

A rich discussion facilitated by local experts on topics related to children who are experiencing grief and loss and an introduction to appropriate age-tools to identify needs and support them
An opportunity to learn about resources available to support high need populations identified in our communities such as single parent & guardian homes and custodial grandparent families
A comprehensive list of Online and LOCAL resources that can assist educators and front line providers as you serve children and families.
A valuable opportunity for Q & A and network with others that provide services in the community.
Sessions will be facilitated by Bereavement Services Manager Kathleen Bradley. Bradley will lead participants through the topics using guided discussions, use of media and instruction.
“Interactions involving our collective experiences with children we serve will enrich the learning environment as we journey through this group process together” states Bradley.
Supporting children who are mourning the loss of a loved one can be challenging especially in Lake County where so many complicated deaths occur. A deeper understanding of grief and enhanced skills will help participants reach out and comfort those that are grieving.
